Agency Transparency

The Groton Police Department recognizes the importance of providing the community we serve with readily available information.  For timely issues, we utilize social media, and for more important and high-profile incidents the department issues press releases. 

To further reinforce our commitment to open communications and accountability, we have established this “transparency page” which endeavors to provide the public with access to additional information of interest to the public, specifically related to departmental policies, annual reports, and use of force data, in addition to complaints and compliments of department personnel.

The Groton Police Department is one of the few departments in the State of Connecticut to receive international accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).  Learn more about our Accreditation commitment.
