GROTON — The Town of Groton Police Department reports that a portion of New London Road has reopened after a crash on Wednesday caused its closure.
On Wednesday, March 19, at approximately 10:23 a.m., the Town of Groton Police Department responded to a single-vehicle crash on New London Road (Route 1) in the area of Strible Lane in the Mystic section of Groton. A vehicle struck and snapped a utility pole, causing the pole’s wires to fall across the roadway.
The driver was not injured as a result of the crash.
New London Road between Ocean View Avenue and Ice House Lane was temporarily closed for crews to make repairs, but has since reopened.
The crash remains under investigation.
