The Town of Groton Police Department is advising residents of Groton and Mystic of a coastal storm expected to impact our region beginning around 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 12, and continuing through Monday, October 13.
The storm may bring stronger-than-normal wind gusts and heavy precipitation, which could result in power outages and localized flooding. Residents are encouraged to take necessary precautions to prepare for these potential impacts and to monitor local news channels and the National Weather Service for storm updates.
Areas of town where travel may be affected by flooding and possible road closures include:
- Gravel Street, Mystic
- Newtown Road near the Groton Library
- Fort Hill Road by Poquonnock Plains Park
- Fort Hill Road at South Road
- South Road underpass
- Poquonnock Road between High Rock Road & Rainville Avenue
