☘️ Safe St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations & Mystic Irish Parade Information ☘️
The Town of Groton Police Department is here to help ensure a fun and safe St. Patrick’s Day for everyone in our community! As we prepare for this exciting holiday, we would like to remind everyone to celebrate responsibly and stay safe.
St. Patrick’s Day and this weekend – March 14-17: We will have extra officers out in cars and on foot all weekend through Monday evening to help ensure public safety in Groton and our portion of Mystic. Whether you’re out enjoying the festivities at local restaurants or celebrating with friends and family, please keep the following in mind:
- Designate a Driver: If you plan to drink, make sure to have a sober driver or use public transportation or a rideshare service. Never drive under the influence.
- Respect Local Laws: Drinking in public places and underage drinking are prohibited. Please celebrate responsibly.
- Watch Out for Pedestrians: With extra foot traffic in the area, please be extra cautious while driving.
Mystic Irish Parade – Sunday, March 23: Join us for the Mystic Irish Parade and experience the lively celebration of Irish culture! We will have a strong presence of officers and public safety personnel to ensure the event is enjoyable for all. Please remember to:
- Arrive Early: Parking may be limited, so give yourself extra time to find a spot and get settled.
- Stay Safe and Alert: Be mindful of your surroundings and follow instructions from officers and event organizers.
Let’s all work together to ensure that this St. Patrick’s Day and Mystic Irish Parade are safe, fun, and full of great memories!
💚 Enjoy the festivities responsibly!
