Police K9

The Groton Police Department currently has three Police K9’s. These K9’s and their handlers go through an exhaustive selection and training process as well as continuous training to ensure the highest level of performance in their duties. The K9’s are training for locating lost persons or fleeing suspects, locating persons concealed in buildings, detecting narcotics, and also utilized to locate discarded evidence and articles. 

The department currently has three K9 Teams: 

  • K9 Jax and Handler Sgt. Tyler DeAngelo
  • K9 Loki and Handler Ofc. Shawn Lisee
  • K9 Saber and Handler Ofc. Ryan Brouwer

The Groton Police Department boasts our very own Master Trainer, Officer Shawn Lisee. Officer Lisee is certified under the North American Police work Dog Association (NAPWDA) after completing hundreds of hours of work training K9 teams in the region.
