In Joint Operation, Groton Police Arrest New York Man Who Came to Groton to Meet an Underaged Female

On Friday, September 12, 2025, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Detectives from the Groton Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), in a joint operation with investigators from the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS), arrested Timothy D. CLARK after he allegedly traveled from New York to Groton to meet an underage girl to engage in sexual intercourse with her.

CLARK was arrested at a location in Groton as part of a joint undercover law enforcement operation targeting child sex predators. The underaged female CLARK believed he was meeting was in fact an undercover law enforcement agent who had utilized chatrooms and accounts posing as an underage female in order to make contact with child sexual predators.

CLARK was placed under arrest and transported to Groton Police Headquarters, where he was processed and held on a $250,000 court-set cash or surety bond.  CLARK was arraigned today at G.A. 10 in New London, CT.

53a-196j, Harmful Communication with a Minor

All charges against CLARK are allegations.  He is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
