Groton Police Investigate Motor Vehicle Crash with Serious Injuries off Yetter Road, Mystic, CT
On Friday, December 27, 2024, at approximately 8:23 a.m., Groton Emergency Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a motor vehicle that went off an embankment on Yetter Road.


Groton Town Police Officers arrived on scene and found a Toyota Pick-up truck down an embankment with the sole occupant trapped inside the vehicle.


The operator was extracted from the vehicle by Emergency personnel. Emergency responders included Old Mystic Fire Department Heavy Rescue, Mystic Fire Department, Mystic River Ambulance and L&M Paramedics. The sole occupant was flown from the scene by Life Star to Hartford Hospital with serious injuries.


Members of the Southeastern Connecticut Regional Traffic Unit arrived on scene to assist in the investigation. This team of accident re-constructionists includes officers from the Town of Groton Police Department, Stonington Police Department, Ledyard Police Department and City of Groton Police Department. Members of Groton Police Department Criminal Investigation Division also responded to assist in the investigation.
