On Friday, July 11, at about 4:52 p.m., the Town of Groton Police Department received a 911 call from a resident reporting a disturbance. The caller, a law enforcement officer, who works for a different agency but was off-duty at the time, reported that two men had trespassed onto his property.
In an initial investigation, police determined that REYES and the officer were known to each other and had an ongoing civil litigation. REYES and a videographer, identified as GLOVER, arrived at the home with a box truck playing video footage of a prior interaction between the parties.
Through further investigation, the Town of Groton Police Department determined that REYES and GLOVER were on the property filming, at which point the parties engaged in a verbal confrontation. The officer also retrieved a firearm from the home.
REYES and GLOVER were arrested without incident.
This incident is being actively investigated by the Town of Groton Police Department in collaboration with the Office of the State’s Attorney New London Judicial District. As this is an active investigation, the Department will have no further comment at this time.
These are allegations. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
