Citizen and Police Committee

The Citizen and Police Committee was established in October of 2021. The goal of the seven-member board is as follows:

  • build stronger relationships between the Groton Police Department and the community.
  • increase communication to and from the department.
  • exchange ideas between the police and the community
  • advise the Police Chief, Town Manager, Town Council and the Public Safety Committee on police and community issues within the confines of any laws and policies.

Membership

There are (7) voting members of the Committee including the Police Chief (or designee), and (6) citizens appointed for two-year terms by the Town Council.
